The film is set in 14th century Czechia and follows Jan Žižka, a young knight and mercenary who becomes a famous military commander. He leads a group of mercenaries, including his friend Lars and Italian knight Giovanni, on various missions to capture nobles and influence politics. The story takes place before the Hussite Wars and explores Žižka's early life, his relationships with other characters like Katherine, Rosenberg, and Torak, and his rise to power as a leader of the Hussite army.
