Rabiye Kurnaz vs. George W. Bush tells the true story of Murat Kurnaz, a young German of Turkish descent unlawfully detained in Guantanamo Bay from 2001 to 2006, and his mother's legal battle for his release with the help of human rights lawyer Bernhard Docke (Alexander Scheer). The film follows their campaign, which ultimately leads to Murat's release but also reveals systemic torture and a lack of compensation or apology.
