The Rose Tattoo

Serafina Delle Rose, a Sicilian seamstress, lives with her truck-driving husband Rosario and their unborn child in Louisiana. After his death in an accident, she becomes a recluse, but attends her daughter's graduation to meet new sailors. There, she meets Alvaro Mangiacavallo, a truck driver who gets a rose tattoo on his chest after a drunken night with Estelle Hohengarten, Serafina's late husband's mistress. As Serafina tries to understand her husband's infidelity, she finds herself drawn to Alvaro, leading to a tumultuous and passionate relationship that ultimately leads to her daughter's marriage.
