The film "Emily" (2022) is a part-fictional portrait of English writer Emily Brontë, concentrating on a fictional romantic relationship with the young curate William Weightman. The movie explores the relationships that inspired her, including her raw, passionate sisterhood with Charlotte and Anne, her first aching, forbidden love for Weightman, and her care for her maverick brother Branwell whom she idolises. As Emily Brontë is ill and near death, her older sister Charlotte asks her what inspired her to write her novel Wuthering Heights, leading to a series of flashbacks that reveal the events that shaped her life and work.
