The Island

"The Island" is a Romanian-French-Belgian animated musical film about Robinson Crusoë, played by Alexander Bălănescu, who voluntarily lives on an island in the Mediterranean Sea. When his solitude is disrupted by migrants, NGOs, and guards, he befriends Friday, Lucian Ionescu, who is the sole survivor of a refugee boat from Africa to Italy. The story features Robinson's adventures with extraordinary beings and events, as documented in his augmented reality diary, filled with poetry and music.
