A family road trip to relive his childhood vacation dreams turns into a nightmare when Rusty Griswold takes his wife and two sons on a cross-country adventure to Walley World, just like he did with his parents and sister. The trip is filled with detours, disasters, and dysfunction, as the Griswolds face challenges that test their patience, relationships, and sanity.
