The Grand Maneuver

The film follows Lieutenant Armand de la Verne (Gérard Philipe), a boastful womanizer who makes a bet that he can seduce any girl he wants, as he sets his sights on Marie-Louise Rivière (Michèle Morgan), a beautiful Parisian divorcee. Their romance is complicated by Marie-Louise's growing attraction to Armand and the parallel courtship of Armand's friend Félix (Yves Robert) with Lucie, the young daughter of a photographer. As Armand's calculated strategy becomes undermined by his genuine emotions, he must confront the reality of his own heart.
