Racing with the Moon

In 1940s Mendocino County, Henry "Hopper" Nash (Sean Penn) and Nicky (Nicolas Cage), two small-town boys from blue-collar families, are about to be deployed overseas. As they prepare for their departure, Henry becomes smitten with Caddie Winger (Elizabeth McGovern), a girl he assumes is wealthy due to her lavish lifestyle. Misadventures ensue as Henry and Nicky become entangled in Caddie's life, testing their friendship and relationships amidst the chaos of military preparations. Ultimately, the boys take a train to leave for war, but not before a memorable final moment of camaraderie and rebellion.
