Retrograde

The 2022 documentary film "Retrograde" is a poignant and thought-provoking portrayal of the final nine months of the US's 20-year war in Afghanistan through the intimate relationship between American Green Berets and Afghan officers they trained. The film chronicles the chaotic exodus of civilians desperate to flee a country that will once again fall under Taliban control, as well as the actions taken by the last American Special Forces units stationed there, including Sami Sadat, a young Afghan general and his troops.
