Anna Diop shines as Aisha, an undocumented Senegalese immigrant who becomes a nanny for a wealthy white family in New York City, only to find herself consumed by unsettling visions and a growing rage. The film follows Aisha's tumultuous journey as she navigates her new life, including a blossoming romance with Malik (Sinqua Walls) and her complicated relationship with her son Lamine, whose presence seems to be the source of her hallucinations.
