Mickey One

Warren Beatty stars as Mickey, a stand-up comic on the run from the mob after incurring their wrath. He flees Detroit for Chicago and steals a Social Security card to get a job, using it under the name Mickey One, hauling garbage for a seedy diner. As he tries to gather enough money to escape his debt, Mickey faces paranoia and searches for a mobster who will talk to him, eventually deciding to do his act anyway despite feeling trapped. He encounters The Artist, a mute mime-like character, in traveling about the city, who unleashes his Rube Goldberg-like creation called "Yes".
