Guru

Abhishek Bachchan stars as Gurukant "Guru" Desai, a villager who rises from the streets to become India's biggest tycoon in 1958 Bombay, rising from its streets and becoming one of the country's largest industrialists through aggressive expansion, smuggling, and manipulation of the system. Guru's unbreakable bond with his wife Sujata (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) develops despite her initial marriage for dowry and his early success is marred by ideological differences and a close friendship with idealistic publisher Manik Dasgupta (Mithun Chakraborty), who later exposes Guru's corruption, leading to personal struggles.
