Legacy of Satan

In the 1974 horror film Legacy of Satan, a satanic cult chooses an unwitting young girl named Maya as its new queen, marking her descent into madness as she struggles to reconcile her normal life with the sinister forces that now surround her. Shot on a shoestring budget and featuring a cast of relatively unknown actors, the film was originally intended to be a hardcore film before Damiano rewrote it as a psychological horror film. With a notorious score and negative reviews at the time of its release, Legacy of Satan remains a lesser-known but still unsettling entry in the grindhouse circuit, where it paired with Tobe Hooper's landmark horror film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
