The film follows the romantic lives of retail employees at a shopping mall, where Sylvie (Myriam Boyer) pines for her boyfriend and is pursued by an American man Eli, who had previously been in love with Jeanne (Delphine Seyrig), a Jewish woman from Poland. Pascale (Pascale Salkin) longs for Robert, the son of Jeanne's shopkeeper husband, while Mado (Lio) marries him, only to be replaced by Lili. The story unfolds through song and dance, exploring themes of consumerism, feminism, and Jewish identity in a lively shopping center.
