The Van

Bobby spends his entire college savings on a customized Dodge Tradesman van, equipped with a waterbed, high-end stereo, and plush carpeting, to improve his social life and success with women. Characterized by its outrageous extravagance, the vehicle is showcased in various drag races and van shows, where Bobby struggles to find respect and falls for Tina, a shy girl initially unimpressed by the van's flashiness. With help from friend Jack, and later, in a confrontation with bully Dugan, Bobby learns that his own character is what ultimately earns Tina's admiration.
