Black Hawk Down

In December 1992, a United Nations military operation turned into a disastrous U.S. Army task force's ill-fated attempt to capture two key figures in Somalia's brutal civil war. The plan to kidnap underlings of a Somali warlord led to the downing of two Black Hawk helicopters, killing or wounding dozens of U.S. soldiers, and sparking an intense and chaotic battle with the militia on the ground, where heavy casualties were inflicted on both sides, ultimately forcing a desperate rescue operation.
