Monster

Colmán Sharkey (Dónall Ó Héalai) lives with his wife and infant son on the Atlantic coast, subsisting on fish caught by him and potatoes grown on their family farm. He takes in Patsy Kelly, a former soldier, as a farmhand and fisherman, just ahead of 'the blight,' a crop disease that causes widespread famine. Colmán's life becomes doubly blighted, and he is persuaded to visit the English landlord, whom he owes money to.
