Karbid und Sauerampfer

After the second World War, Karl "Kalle" Blücher (Erwin Geschonneck) must travel to Wittenberg to obtain carbide for his cigarette factory in Dresden. As he hitches a ride back with seven heavy barrels of carbide, Kalle's inventiveness and optimistic attitude turn a grueling task into an entertaining and funny journey, accompanied by a middle-aged singer, Karin (Margot Busse), a teenage orphan, and other unexpected travelers.
