The Noise of Engines

"Le bruit des moteurs," or "The Noise of Engines," is a 2021 Canadian drama film that explores themes of identity and surveillance. Robert Naylor stars as Alexandre, an instructor at the Canadian customs college who returns home to his small town after being suspended from work following an unverified sexual assault allegation. Under surveillance by police investigators, he forms a new friendship with Icelandic drag racer Aðalbjörg (Tanja Björk Ómarsdóttir). The film premiered at the 69th San Sebastián International Film Festival on September 19, 2021.
