The Reader

A young French woman's mundane life is transformed by her passion for reading as she immerses herself in the adventures of a fictional character who makes reading her profession. Constance becomes engrossed in the story of Marie, a woman who reads literature to others, and begins to imagine herself as Marie, weaving back and forth between their stories. As Constance's imagination takes hold, she starts to experience fantastical transformations on those around her, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy.
