Big Stone Gap

Ave Maria Mulligan (Ashley Judd) is a 40-year-old independent woman who owns her dead father's pharmacy in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, in the 1970s. She's heavily involved in her community, helping out with the local Emergency Response Team and directing the annual production of "Trail of the Lonesome Pine." Ave delivers medications to Nan McChesney, where she meets Jack MacChesney (Patrick Wilson), a former schoolmate who later becomes her love interest. As Ave navigates her life, family secrets are revealed, including news that her real father, thought to be deceased, still lives in Italy.
