A lone scientist, Maxim Chakilev, ventures to a remote Russian Arctic coast in search of an ancient natural phenomenon, but instead finds himself overwhelmed by the sudden arrival of a massive herd of walruses, which are struggling to survive due to warming seas and rising temperatures that threaten their habitat.
