Saiva, played by Michelle Yeoh, is born with a curse that will bring harm to all who come close to her. Abandoned by her tribe, she grows up in isolation with Anja, played by Michelle Krusiec, whom she adopts as an infant. Loki, played by Sean Bean, an injured soldier, stumbles into their lives and is nursed back to health, but treachery and violence await them all, leading to a tragic confrontation that ultimately destroys Saiva's fragile existence.
