Chunhyang

In 18th century Korea, a young courtesan's daughter, Chunhyang, catches the eye of Lee Mongryong, a well-to-do family scion. Despite their social differences, they fall in love and dream of a future together. However, their happiness is short-lived as Chunhyang's low status is threatened by the advances of the greedy and lustful Byun Hakdo. Im Kwon-taek's film adaptation of the classic pansori tale presents a fresh take on this timeless story, blending traditional Korean storytelling with modern cinematic techniques.
