The Producers

In 1959, Max Bialystock hires Leo Bloom as his accountant, and they concoct a scheme to scam wealthy investors by producing a disastrous musical that will be so bad it won't raise any suspicions when the investors demand their money back. Their gamble pays off when the musical, Springtime for Hitler, becomes an unexpected hit, thanks in part to the over-the-top performances of its flamboyant director, Roger De Bris. As Leo and Max's partnership flourishes, they must navigate the consequences of their success, including a prison sentence for tax fraud and a newfound appreciation for the power of showmanship.
