Mixing Nia

In "Mixing Nia," a poignant and thought-provoking dramedy directed by Alison Swan, Karyn Parsons stars as Nia, a biracial woman on a journey to discover her true identity. Nia, an upwardly mobile ad agency copywriter, quits her job to explore her African American heritage and find authenticity after being tasked with marketing a malt-liquor beverage to black teens. As she navigates two blossoming relationships with Lewis, the instructor of an African-American writing workshop, and Matt, her former co-worker, Nia must confront the complexities of her mixed identity and learn that sometimes, the greatest courage lies in embracing one's true self.
