The 2011 Danish semi-biographical drama film "A Funny Man" tells the story of comedian Dirch Passer (Nikolaj Lie Kaas), who struggles to balance his desire for critical respect with pleasing his audience. As he takes on a role inspired by Steinbeck's classic "Of Mice and Men," his life becomes a running joke, costing him his friendship with on-stage partner Kjeld Petersen (Lars Ranthe).
