The Great Journey

The film follows Réda (Nicolas Cazalé), a French-Moroccan teenager preparing for his Baccalaureat, as he reluctantly accompanies his devout father (Mohamed Majd) on a pilgrimage to Mecca in a broken-down car. Along the route through Europe and the Middle East, they meet various characters, including an aged woman, and Réda learns about Islam from his father. The journey serves as a transformative experience for both Reda and his father, ultimately leading to their deaths at different points during the trip.
