"Mundane History" (2009) is a poignant drama that explores the unlikely friendship between Ake (Phakpoom Surapongsanuruk), a young paralysed man from a wealthy Bangkok family, and Pun (Arkaney Cherkham), his male nurse from Isan in Northern Thailand. Through their bond, the film offers a commentary on Thailand's class-based society and the fragility of life. Written, co-produced, and directed by Anocha Suwichakpong, the film premiered at several international festivals before winning the Tiger Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
