Set in 1987, Carla's Song tells the story of love and redemption in the midst of war. A Scottish bus driver, George Lennox, rescues a traumatized Nicaraguan refugee, Carla, from Glasgow and takes her on a perilous journey to find out what happened to her family and boyfriend, Antonio, who was taken by the Contras during the U.S.-sponsored insurgency in Nicaragua. Along the way, they face unimaginable horrors and heart-wrenching losses, but ultimately, George finds closure as Carla confronts her past and begins a new life with their newborn daughter.
