That Old Dream That Moves

A young technician named Jacques arrives at a French factory about to be closed down and dismantles a piece of machinery for transport. While working, he befriends the workers, including Donand, the factory's patron, with whom he develops an attraction. Jacques confides in Louis, the oldest worker, who advises him not to pursue it, while Donand dismisses his advances as a misunderstanding. In the end, Jacques is left alone after being rejected by both, and offered comfort by Louis but refuses it.
