On the Ice

In the isolated Iñupiat community of Utqiagvik, Alaska, two teenagers, Qalli and Aivaaq, are forced to confront their grief and guilt when a seal-hunting trip goes horribly wrong, resulting in the accidental killing of one of their friends. Afraid of the consequences, they concoct a web of lies to conceal the truth, but as the community's close-knit nature makes the loss feel all too personal, the teens must navigate the treacherous waters of guilt, secrets, and addiction.
