You Only Live Twice

"You Only Live Twice" (1967) takes agent 007 to Japan where he seeks the secret SPECTRE installation responsible for literally stealing space capsules and threatening war between the USA and USSR. The film upped the ante with action & spy-stuff and is more dynamic than the previous ones, but also features over-the-top elements that are cartoonish. Sean Connery stars as James Bond, who travels to a remote island to find the perpetrators of the hijacked space capsules, coming face-to-face with Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the head of SPECTRE, an organisation working for the government of an unnamed Asian power to provoke war between the United States and the Soviet Union.
