Room

Room is a 2015 survival psychological drama film directed by Lenny Abrahamson and written by Emma Donoghue, based on her 2010 novel. It stars Brie Larson as Joy Newsome, a young woman who has been held captive for seven years with her five-year-old son Jack (Jacob Tremblay). After their escape, the boy experiences the outside world for the first time. The film explores themes of mother-son relationship, depression, and finding meaning in a seemingly pointless existence.
