Tadao (Goro Kishitani), a North Korean immigrant working as a taxi driver in 1990s Tokyo, navigates both humorously and tragically through interactions with his customers and employers, including Connie (Ruby Moreno), a Filipina newly hired bartender at Tadao's mother's karaoke bar.
