Barry Lyndon

The film follows Ryan O'Neal as Redmond Barry, an Irish rogue who uses his cunning and wit to work his way up the social classes of 18th century England, transforming himself from a humble family man into a nobleman. Along the way, he marries Marisa Berenson's Lady Lyndon and fathered her son Bryan Patrick, but their union is unhappy due to Barry's infidelity and squandering of her wealth. As Barry attempts to climb the social ladder, he faces various challenges, including duels with other men, financial ruin, and ostracism from high society.
