In "It Is Night in America", the boundaries between predator and prey are blurred as a trio of seemingly unrelated events unfold in Brasília: an anteater's gruesome discovery on a deserted road, a boa constrictor's eerie presence in suburban streets, and foxes roaming freely through vacant neighborhoods. At the same time, hundreds of displaced and rescued wild animals find solace within the city zoo, where they gaze back at humans with unsettling intensity. This documentary hybrid weaves together these disparate threads to create a thought-provoking exploration of coexistence and the wild side of modern urban life. By juxtaposing the beauty and brutality of nature, "It Is Night in America" becomes a searing critique of our relationship with the natural world.
