In the midst of Glasgow's festive season, local radio disc jockey Allan "Dicky" Bird finds himself entangled in a bizarre turf war between two Italian families over the city's ice cream market. Witnessing an attack on an ice cream van sparks his involvement, leading him to mediate between rival vendors and their descendants. With his red BMW 323i Baur convertible suffering damage at every turn, Bird becomes obsessed with resolving the conflict, proposing a new treat - ice cream fritters - that brings the warring factions together.
