Ay Mariposa

Ay Mariposa tells the story of three characters in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas whose lives are upended by plans to build a US-Mexico border wall. Marianna Trevino Wright (as herself), director of the National Butterfly Center, leads wall resistance and faces violent threats from pro-wall factions. Zulema Hernandez, a life-long migrant worker and advocate for all migrants, fights for justice and wild beauty in her community. The film documents their commitment to home, justice, and the future of the US-Mexico borderlands.
