Dog Day Afternoon

Dog Day Afternoon is a 1975 American biographical crime drama film directed by Sidney Lumet and produced by Martin Bregman and Martin Elfand. The film stars Al Pacino as Sonny Wortzik, John Cazale as Sal Naturile, Charles Durning as Moretti, Chris Sarandon as Leon, and James Broderick as Sheldon. Based on the true story of would-be Brooklyn bank robbers who attempt a bank heist that quickly turns sour and escalates into a hostage situation and stand-off with the police.
