Padre Pio

It is the year 1920, and Italian WWI veterans have returned to their impoverished villages, struggling to come to terms with the devastating consequences of war. Meanwhile, Padre Pio, a young Capuchin Franciscan priest, arrives at San Giovanni Rotondo, where he encounters Satan himself, who reveals himself as the instigator of the war and the sociopolitical problems plaguing the town. As Padre Pio delves deeper into the struggles of the people, he learns about the power of faith through the Sacrament of Confession and the Holy Mass, which helps him to heal physical and spiritual wounds.
