A twisted tale of obsession and guilt, "The Benefactor" follows a wealthy philanthropist (Richard Gere) who forms an unsettling bond with his newlywed acquaintances, leading to a dark descent into possessiveness and chaos in their lives. This 2015 drama film showcases Gere's strong performance amidst a convoluted narrative that fails to deliver on its intriguing premise.
