Saving Face

Every year, hundreds of women in Pakistan are attacked with acid, leaving them scarred physically and emotionally. This powerful documentary film follows two survivors and their fight for justice, as well as a Pakistani plastic surgeon who returns to his homeland to help restore their faces and lives through reconstructive surgery. The film sheds light on the under-reporting of acid violence against women due to cultural and structural inequalities, and tells a story of hope and resilience in the face of oppression.
