Buster and Billie

In a small Georgia town in 1948, Buster Lane is a handsome, popular high-school senior who is engaged to be married, but his life takes an improbable turn when he meets Billie-Jo Truluck, a girl from an underprivileged background who offers him easy sex. As Buster becomes disenchanted with his engagement and finds himself falling in love with Billie, their happiness is short-lived, as she is brutally murdered by his jealous friends, leaving Buster consumed by grief and guilt.
