R.O.T.O.R.

In this 1987 sci-fi action thriller, Dr. Barrett C. Coldyron develops a prototype police robot called R.O.T.O.R., which is meant to preserve peace in a chaotic future. However, when the robot is accidentally activated and goes on a killing rampage, Coldyron teams up with his colleague Dr. Corrine Steele to stop it. As they work together, they realize that as long as R.O.T.O.R. remains focused on pursuing Sonya, its target, it will not kill anyone else unless they get in its way. In the end, Coldyron and Steele successfully destroy the robot, but Coldyron is ambushed and murdered by his corrupt superior, Earl Buglar.
