Meet Shiv Shastri Balboa, a comedy drama that follows Shiv Shankar Shastri, a retiree from India and Rocky movie fan, as he moves to the US to be with his son. Stuck in a large house alone, he forms an unlikely bond with an undocumented housekeeper named Elsa, and together they embark on an unexpected road trip through the American heartland. Along the way, they face cultural stigma, racism, and other challenges, but their passion for cinema ultimately helps them overcome adversity.
