Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut

Superman agrees to sacrifice his powers to start a relationship with Lois Lane, unaware that three Kryptonian criminals he inadvertently released are conquering Earth. Superman diverts a missile into outer space, unknowingly freeing them from the Phantom Zone. The film features a significant amount of discarded footage, alternative takes, and story elements not featured in the theatrical version, as well as an early developed alternate opening and ending that were both envisioned before the theatrical release of Superman II. Gene Hackman reprises his role as Lex Luthor, while Christopher Reeve stars as Clark Kent / Superman alongside Margot Kidder as Lois Lane. The film's completion was overseen by Richard Donner himself, who edited and restored the original vision for the sequel.
