A Texas cop, Ray Sheridan (Kevin Kline), joins forces with 17-year-old Jorge to find his sister Adriana, who was kidnapped and forced into prostitution in Mexico City. Meanwhile, Polish woman Veronica is also held captive by the same gang, led by Russian gangster Vadim Youchenko. As they search for their sisters, Ray and Jorge cross paths with Mexican coyote Manuelo, who smuggles victims across the US-Mexico border. Together, they uncover a human trafficking ring that targets young women and boys from Mexico and Poland.
