Gentleman's Agreement

Widowed journalist Philip Schuyler Green (Gregory Peck) moves to New York City with his aging mother and young son, Tommy. He meets magazine publisher John Minify's niece Kathy Lacey, who is the person behind the story idea on antisemitism. As Phil adopts a Jewish identity to research the topic, he begins dating Kathy, but struggles to balance their relationship with his undercover work. Meanwhile, his friend Dave Goldman, also Jewish, faces anti-Semitism in the city, leading to a series of incidents that test Kathy's attitudes and ultimately change her perspective on the issue.
