Skipped Parts

In 1963, liberal-minded and reckless Lydia Callahan (Jennifer Jason Leigh) is raising her 14-year-old son, Sam (Bug Hall), after being banished from North Carolina by her father, who's running for governor. The two settle in Wyoming, where Sam finds himself among only a few students at Gro Vont High School who read. As he navigates adolescence and first love with Maurey (Mischa Barton), Lydia's unorthodox parenting style causes tension. The film follows their journey as they face challenges and ultimately find a sense of belonging and family in each other.
